Did Chris Hemsworth Take steroids for his role in Thor? My opinion says, yes, he did. I’ll give the facts, evidence, and everything I have based my opinion of below. We’ve done numerous articles on celebrities in the past such as: Sylvester Stallone, the rock, Taylor Lautner, just to name but a few we’ve done so far.

Now what made us decide to do Chris Hemsworth? While he might not have a body as large as The Rock, or have the low body fat levels that Sylvester Stallone achieves, he still has a tremendous body overall, and he got it in such a short amount of time. This will be due to 3 things: An excellent training routine, good diet and nutrition and of course anabolic steroids.

First we need to take a look at Chris Hemsworth and his life style. Chris Hemsworth’s big passion in life was always… wait for it! Surfing. Yet he didn’t even go to the gym! Well, he did make a joke about how he’d swim 3/4 times a week and only eat junk food once or twice. But that’s hardly enough to give you a fantastic body that men crave to have and women crave to have for completely different reasons of course (at least in most cases)

Chris Hemsworth’s body was not really impressive, so once he went in for the role of Thor and was of course accepted he realized the need to add on some dramatic size and he needed to do it quick.

A quick quote from Chris Hemsworth himself about his goals and ideas for the type of body he’d need once he was given the role. “In the comic strip, Thor looks to be around 500lb [227kg], so obviously that wasn’t really logical or my goal. There’s no way I could get that big, but it was very important for me to look the part and be as powerful and strong as I could, while still maintaining that element of agility and mobility required to look like a God!”

Hemsworth admits getting into superhero shape was hard work. ‘The kettlebell routines that Mike put me through were intense, partly because I’d never used them before, but also because it’s a heavy combination of cardio and weightlifting,’ says the 27-year-old former Home & Away star. ‘Most of my training previously was geared more around cardio – mainly boxing and Muay Thai, with some elements of weights. I hadn’t experienced kettlebells, but it’s a great way to build functional strength.’

Here is the workout that Chris Hemsworth claims to do.

Thor Workout Part 1 – eight-week bulking plan:

How to do it:
- Week one – sets 4 reps 4-6
- Week two – sets 4 reps 6-8
- Week three – sets 4 reps 8-12
- Week four – sets 4 reps 4-6
- Repeat for weeks five to eight

Session one – chest and back:
- Bench press
- Bent-over row
- Weighted pull-up
- Weighted dip

Session two – legs:
- Squat
- Deadlift
- Hamstring curl

Session three – arms:
- Weighted chin-up
- Close-grip bench press

Thor Workout Part 2 – four week fat loss plan:

‘Once Chris put on the muscle I needed to get him lean, which meant stripping away any fat he had accumulated during the first phase while maintaining all his newly built muscle,’ says Knight. ‘I did this by getting him to do this total-body circuit based around classic strongman moves, such as log presses, tyre flips, sledgehammers and prowler sprints, as well as circuits with kettlebells of varying weights.

‘This got Chris down to his fighting weight of 220lb [100kg] – and as you can see from the pictures, it was all muscle.’ Hemsworth adds that he kept a ‘very close eye’ on his diet. ‘I was eating a lot of clean protein, fruit, vegetables and some carbs, as well as drinking four to five litres of water a day.’

Circuit one – Tabata (20sec on/10sec off):
- Double kettlebell squats – four rounds
- Eight rounds of snatches – eight rounds

Circuit two:
- Kettlebell swings – 30sec two-hand, 30sec right-hand-only swings, 30sec left-hand-only swings, 30sec ?alternate swings
- Cleans – 5 right, 5 left, 4 right, 4 left, 3 right, 3 left, 2 right, 2 left, 1 right, 1 left, then back up to 5 each side for a total of 60 reps with no rest

Circuit three:
- Turkish get-ups – 5min continuous
- Windmill – 5 each side

A bit anti climatic, no? His training probably wasn’t as intense as you’d expect him to claim it to be.

Do I really believe he actually used this routine? Yes, I do, actually. Because of his acting commitments, getting 60 minutes in the gym would be quite hard. However he would be using more than just his workout routine.

He needed to build the mass as quickly as possible and stay lean. He needs to recover and improve from every session. He can’t afford to put too much bloat or fat on due to needing to cut so soon. He’d be on the best supplements around such as zma, Creatine, multi vitamins, Vitamin C, Branch chain amino acids and of course protein powders, whey, caseine etc.

Now that wouldn’t be all he’d use, would it? As stated above he needs to avoid bloat, recover fast, train hard and build as much muscle as humanly possible in a quick succession.

He would avoid steroids such as Deca, dianabol, etc or any steroids that would hold a lot of water weight.

Instead his cycle would consist of

Turinabol at 60mg daily for the first 8 weeks.

Testosterone would be ran for the entire cycle of his training. We’d be looking at 24/25 weeks (as obviously he has to maintain his mass while playing the part of Thor)

Finally he’d run Tren for the first 8 weeks also. This would rip off a lot of fat allowing him to eat more calories and also add good mass, around 30lbs of mass, and 20lbs of fat loss which isn’t too shabby considering his situation.

I believe he’d use a lot of carbs and good fats with obviously high protein for the first portion of his bulking routine. For the cutting, he’d then go carb depleted for a small period of say 6 weeks to get lean before doing a “slow” bulk to keep the muscle mass he’s gained and add a few more lean lbs of muscle.

It’s important to remember he was training TWICE per day, Once with weights in the am and in the evening with boxing or muay thai for fitness and the fight scenes he would find himself filming later in the day.

While you can imagine training in the morning, spending at least 8 hours acting and then training in the evening would be almost impossible WITHOUT the use of anabolic steroids. I’d still like to state though, that even though he obviously used them that should take NOTHING away from him

He obviously worked damn hard to get the body he has now. It would be simply impossible to do it without steroids. And you know what? 99% of you wouldn’t be able to do it with them. His commitment to the role and effort he put in gives me nothing but the upmost respect for him.

While I don’t think he’ll hold onto his build (he’s already lost a lot of it), he dived into something completely new. He was never a fan of weights, surfing and swimming was his love. But he took it serious he worked hard and showed what anyone can achieve.

  1. Court said he began selling steroids in his gym even though he made little profit from it compared to his legitimate business.

    3. It's funny as hell when someone who takes roids claims they don't then defends others who clearly do. Who gives a shit. Mr walker slams more tren in his ass the Chris ever will in a life time.

  3. You missed the point Caleb. This person never said that people could not achieve this naturally. He said that CH could not achieve this in such a short period of time...therefore, he must have used steroids to get the job done quicker. However, your extreme reaction to this post does make me wonder what your problem is.

  4. he was most obviously roid-raging. When someone gets to the point of wanting to literally kill someone or wishes their imminent demise -- over a harmless public blog, there has to be some major hormonal imbalance, mental illness, or abuse of hard illicit drugs like PCP/meth/cocaine, and bath salts are in the realm of possibilities

  8. Anyone that thinks a 27 year old man can change their body that much that in such a short time is main lining. Liquid Draino.

He added like 20-30 lbs of muscle in 12 weeks on a mediocre work out routine. (by pro body builder standard)
    ROFLMAO!

If someone told you that had a work out routine that could do that in 12 weeks you would call them a liar.
